Holly Stults

Holly Stults, an American jewelry maker and designer, has made her home in Santa Fe, NM for 30 years since 1992, after training in PA (Wilkes Univ., BA in Fine Arts, minor in Education), NYC (Kulicke-Stark Academy of Jewelry Arts and Parsons School of Design) and NJ (Long Beach Island Arts and Sculpture Center), spending the summer of “73 in Europe, and sailing and water skiing off the shores of New Jersey. The water girl is now the desert flower, loving the clear, blue sky, mountains, and air like no other place on earth.

She had the honor and pleasure to personally deliver her jewelry to the White House.

Holly is included in “Profiles, Who’s Who in American Crafts.” and other jewelry publications and has been in business since 1980, starting her business in Manhattan. She was recruited to teach jewelry at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) in NYC. She completed the NYC marathon in 1985. She was the head jewelry instructor for many years at Santa Fe Community College creating the new studio in the new Fine Arts Building proudly serving during President John Pacheco’s term.

Her jewelry is made with 14K and 18K gold, Argentium Silver (non-tarnishing), Pearls and Gemstones, including Opals. Holly’s unique and original designs specialize in Necklace Enhancers: detachable pendants which can be worn to enhance, shorten and/or lengthen a variety of necklace strands. Her enhancers are natural forms of Orchids, Lilies, Hearts, Petals and Waves. Her collection also includes Earrings, Rings and Bracelet Cuffs.

Holly grew up on a small 33-acre potato farm in Cranbury, NJ, (near Princeton) that had been her grandparent’s. “I freely followed my amazing mother around as she tended to the many flower gardens she created and loved. Together as a family, we grew all our own vegetables, canned or froze this food in our kitchen. That natural environment shaped my early aesthetic.”

She has exhibited in over 12 museums, including the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, NYC, the Noyes Museum, NJ, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe, NM, and the Albuquerque History and Art Museum, NM. Her jewelry has been sold to over 300 Fine Arts and Crafts Galleries nationwide, including Ortegas on the Plaza and the Valerie Fairchild Gallery, in Santa Fe and others. She has exhibited in hundreds of national juried Fine Arts and Craft Shows since 1980. The American Crafts at Lincoln Center, NYC was her first show.

When not in her studio, she spends time with her family and friends, raising orchids, tending her herb, flower & veggie gardens, hiking the mountains, and doing art shows. She has a sculptor’s concern for how a piece looks from all angles and her pieces are super structures, super strong. Her detachable pendants (Enhancers) offer a wonderful versatility of ways to wear them, as they can be worn with a variety of pearl and gemstone strands.

She spins love into her sensuous, dynamic forms and satin finishes.

“The human soul has a great need and desire for objects of beauty and love. I feel very fortunate to be able to contribute to the expression and exchange of love through my jewelry.”
